What Is 2 Pac Paint?

2 Pac is a lasting, durable paint finish which can be applied to cupboards, doors and furniture. 2 Pac paint is a polyurethane combination that provides a finish exceptional in its resistance to heat, moisture and staining, making it extremely practical for almost any surface.

2 Pac is considered the premium surface coating option and needs to be applied by a professional using specialist equipment and knowledge.

Why Use 2 Pac over laminate?

2 Pac paint delivers a superior finish because it is a durable hardened surface which is available in a wide range of textures, finishes and infinite colour options. Finishes include solid colour, clear, timber stain, white wash, grain filled and metallics. 2 Pac paint products are also able to achieve very high gloss levels (see gloss levels below).

2 Pac paint affords a finish that is easily repairable, simple to clean and with the right care, proven longevity. 2 Pac paint is another alternative to Laminate. Laminate is a plasticised product which is wrapped and glued onto MDF boards.  2 Pac paint on the other hand is individually sprayed onto each panel, hence making it a more durable product and ideal for any type of home, office or retail space.

Gloss levels:

100% – Full gloss. Silky smooth finish with a mirror reflection. Full gloss gives your project maximum shine and depth of colour. It does show fingerprints and marks on the surface and will require regular cleaning. The bonus is that it can be buffed to remove any light scratches and the paint brought back to new again.

60% – Semi gloss. Ideal if you want a little bit more shine to your projects, without being full gloss. It gives a beautiful finish whilst still provides shine and depth of colour. It you have light scratches or damage it can’t be buffed out like full gloss and would need to be resprayed.

30% – Satin finish. With a smooth luxurious satin texture, 30% is certainly one of the most popular finishes. It’s ideal for high traffic areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, and internal doors. It can hide fingerprints and marks easier which makes it ideal for young families. It provides a more subtle appearance of the selected colour, with a smooth sheen finish.

10% – Matte finish. is ideal for those who want a 2 Pac finish without the shine. You can lose some of the body and depth of colour depending on the colour selected. Matte finish has a chalky feel and absorbs most of the light giving it a low sheen finish.

Zilch is a new product on the market that gives a stylish finish to any base coat. Zilch protects timber or veneers with a natural look and can also be used as a finish over a solid colour polyurethane. This product is UV stablised to protect from light induced discolouration. Zilch is even more fingerprint resistant than satin and provides a finish that will impress! Available in Super Matte 0-5%, Matte 10%, Satin 30% and semi-gloss 50%.
